This work was inspired by Gothic and acient Greek styles of architexture. The work began with researching different forms of gothic and Greek architexture for inspiration. After that Sketches of few concept ideas were drawn to help narrow the focus of the project. after sketching the final design work began constructing the peice which currently hangs on the wall about 3 feet by 2 feet.
The requirements of this piece were it needed to hang on a wall, be at least 24 inches long and 2 inches deep. The work could only be made using balsa wood, gesso, string, foam core, black ink, paper, tracing paper, and masking tape. In addition to being restricted to few materials all of the materials listed needed to be used at least once.

The materials in this project were incorporated as follows:
Foam core: to construct the hexagon shapes as well as the columns that support it
Balsa wood: to trim the front hexagon
Black ink: on the front hexagon outlining the cutout shapes and on the paper on the wall as a design
Masking tape: covering the paper on the wall
String: criss-crossing in the open space of the structure as well as securing it to the wall on the sides and continuing on the wall
Paper: used to back the masking tape as well as for the front of the hexagon on top of the foam core
Tracing paper: backing the smaller cutouts in the center of the piece
Gesso: painted on the string to make it appear lighter on the tip of the triangle as well as stiffen the string
